Here's a small summary:
Just before I left home, I put the digital camera in my backpack (on the outside section). My mom gets all pissy and said that it will break. So I put it in the inside section like she suggested and we're off.
We're about to land in Narita and I see some killer photo opportunities. I try to take a picture but sure enough, the camera won't turn on. New batteries and all. The next day we go to the electronic store to buy a camera but she gets in a big fight with me so I had to buy the camera on my own. I got this with a 16 and 64 meg memory stick for $290 (semi-decent price).
Afterwards we stopped by theTokyo Tower and went to the top to look around. The city is huge. There was no end in sight.
We then stopped by the Imperial Palace and walked around for a bit. There's not too much to see or do there but it was pretty cool anyway.
Then an old family friend takes us on an all expense paid trip to Kauizawa and then to Kusatsu. Kusatsu is famous for the sulfer hot springs. I even took a sulfer foot bath.
The resort we stayed at had a golf course that's actually a ski resort during the winter. You might not be able to tell but the course is so steep that if you hit the ball short, it will roll back down a ways. Most of the holes are under 100 yards but it's almost impossible to get par.
We spent a day driving up the local mountain, Shirane. This mountain has loads of different ski resorts on them that are active during the winter.
On our way home, we stopped by the great lava fields of the still semi-active volcano Asayama. There is still much smoke comming out of the top of the volcano (partly seen to the left of the picture) even though it hasn't errupted in 220 years.
I have over 200 pics but I'm working on a Celeron 133-200 laptop so I can't do much else until I return home. Hope you enjoy!
