Hey everyone.. Well I'm just dropping by to tell you guys I joined the team on the new years day.(even though my profile says Jan 2).

Got 4 WU's done so far :D

edit: by the way, is 6hrs 30min or so per work unit pretty good?

expanded capability:

I have two machines dedicated for SETI in addition to my main rig.

Intel PIII 600MHz 512K cache, 160MB system memory, PC100, and Athlon 700MHz 512K cache 256MB system memory, PC100

Welcome to the TeAm, Jerboy! :D

Looking at your rig specs from your sig, I would say 6h 30min is too high. Which version of the client are you running, the command-line (CLI) or the screensaver (GUI)? The CLI is much quicker. If you're using the GUI, your time is about right. If you're using the CLI, you might want to look at tweaking memory settings - CAS2 and other aggressive timings help SETI a lot - and seeing if you have things like virus scanners or screensavers running, they'll both hurt SETI performance.

But half the time I was using my computer and SETI was going on at background in always run mode..

So, I assume you're using the CLI version? If so, are you running SETI Driver with it?

I just used "high performance mode" in BIOS which sets the memory to DDR-SDRAM 6-1-1-1R 5-1-1-1W 2.0-2-2CL, according to Sandra. Its a 512MB DDR PC2100. Chipset is AMD 761.

Well did this the painstaking way, but...

Athlon 1.4GHz up and running at 1417MHz
PIII 600MHz Katmai dedicated to SETI running in basement
Athlon 700MHz running in living room

Hopefully I can catch up :)

Welcome to the TeAm Jerboy :)

Your rig should be at about 5 Hours, maybe a little less depending on how much you use it.
