Hi-8 & Minivd capture need advice fast please

Hi all,

welp Ive ordered the upgrads for my computer its going to be a 3 ghz from 1.4. i need a capture card or something to get the video from hi 8 and minidv. I know some of these cards get really expensive, but please take into account im not trying to make a mtv or anything like that just very good quality for home use etc. please advise on hi and minidv capture and quality options etc, thanks

Most newer camcorders support firewire and all you need is a firewire port and capture software to make it work correctly, if your talking about analoug capture I cant really help you anyways hope this helps...

For Dv if you have windows Xp the Moviemaker 2 software is a free download. Most of the firewire cards come with basic software. My dvcam can connect to my 8mm camera so you can pass the 8mm through the dv cam.

Otherwise most TV tuner cards have composite connectors for a standard camera.
