hhhrm which Ipod to get

This is a tough decision for me, I am in college, and feel like the only person of 10000 without some sort of Ipod/Zen type player. My dilemma, which kind of Ipod should I get?

All prices are at the School store, not online/retail
Ipod Video 60gig (black) - $360
Ipod Video 30gig (black) - $270
Nano 4gig (black) - $230
Nano 2gig (black) - $190
Ipod Mini size? - $?
used from friend Ipod 20gig-60gig - $100

I would like the Ipod Video because I need something to do in lecture hall when it gets touneeded stuff (like in calc when the prof talks about proofs irrelavent to anything). Is 60gig worth it because of the extra battery life, but do I really need an extra 30gig? I barly have 15gigs of music on my computer. How much would I really need video, seeing how its going to cost like $2 for a tv show and cant use DivX?

Depends on your needs. I just got a shuffle for when I'm on the go - and use my mini for when I'm in the car/long trip. Would you actually use the video? If not, go with a nano.

Well I was thinking about watching movies or tv shows while I was in class or on a trip whatever or whatever, in my opinion, the video would be best. The nano just isnt big enough for all my music, for whichever mood Im in, but I could probably squeeze the songs I would perfer onto it.

Getting the extra money isnt a huge thing to me because I can ,gasp, get a job or donate plasma for easy money.

You can get the iPod Color 20 GB for $180 new at amazon... hard to beat that.

Its more about I feel left out, I see everyone walking around with their white headphones on and whatnot. I really dont care if its a Ipod, zen, or whatever, just want some kind of larger mp3 player

What are the other kind mp3 players are out there (like zen or irivier) that support movies?

i thought i would never use my 40GB (i have a 3rd gen) and i ended up ripping all of my CDs (finally) and i have about 3GB free. i'm in big trouble. i need to upgrade soon.

I had student loans as well. Tuition only covers a portion of the costs of a college education. State and federal taxes as well as private donations also contribute.

If its a public school, its still subsidized with public money. If its private, then I guess he can't really say anything.

I had student loans as well. Tuition only covers a portion of the costs of a college education. State and federal taxes as well as private donations also contribute.

It depends on the school and the situation the student is in. My school was a private school and other then a few minor grants, it was paid for by loans taken out by my mom and myself.

the best choice financially is to get a used mini. for cool factor though you must get the nano. it's just great.
