With all of the talk around here lately about passing ./ in RC5 and getting into the top 20 in SETI, I thought some of you might be interested to actually be able to buy duron and t-bird in socket A. I went into a store today here in KC and was able to touch em. MB is FIC AZ-11. Check it out here:

I have never bought from em before so I can't comment on their service.

Mooooooo.

Yah, i was excited to see it on the wall. I asked the employee who made the board because it wasn't overly obvious just by looking at it. I checked for multiplier settings but there was an area that looked about the right size that just had solder on it and was missing any switches.:| That's ok, because later that day i found out that both the new asus and abit socket A's will support the multipliers. So it just a matter of time before you can buy one of those. I am really jonesin for a t-bird, almost any speed will be a great improvement over my slow arse k6.

On that site it says:

<< Abit KA7-100 Athlon MB ..................$ 195
<>4X-AGP and PC133 mem..support... >>

Isn't it supposed to be Asus KA7?

ooooooohh... Telectronics? I used to live in Kansas City and bought from them a couple of times. I'm extremely thankful that my stuff never had any problems because taking it back would be a nightmare. They are very tight on returns and their window was something like 14-21 days. Talking on the phone was no fun either... their English leaves plenty to be desired.

Of course, I've had no contact with them for 3 years or so, so it is possible they could've improved... but I personally wouldn't take any chances with them if I didn't have to.

<< ...in-stock...no sound...no ARM slot.. >>

Thank God there's no Arm slot, that could cut yourself with the sharp edges of the PCB! 😀
