i just performed a motherboard swap for my computer. went from a k62 350 to celeron 466 now. i just have to say that you people who assemble your own computers are crazy. it was a fvcking pain in the ass just to swap out the motherboard. and now i have to reinstall windows (but not linux!)? of course being tired and hung over doesn't help things either.

lol, if you put it together yourself the first time, you will have more generalized parts and it will be easier. Replaceing a mobo in a Dell, Gateway, etc... is a pain.

Why did you bother? I have a 466 and it's useless for just about anything thats not browsing the web and going on IM...

actually the performance is better than the k6-2 and it was a "free" processor. i think i'll get piii or something

Reinstall windows? I've never had to do that after swapping mobos.

Although, I went from an Intel to and Intel. Chipsets and all.

I do it everytime. Just feels cleaner to me.
