thats nothin...i once photocopied so i could fit 16 pages on 1 side of a piece of paper...we were allowed 2 side, so that was 32 pages (solutions to the HW problems)

then the test was HW problems with the numbers changed...i did pretty well on that one :)

In a chemistry class I had once, we were only allowed both sides of a 3 x 5 note card. So, we used a really good business photocopier at this big office I worked at to reduce all the major examples and pages from the chapters we needed into these really tiny about 1" squares. You had to squint like crazy to read it, but man was there a ton of info on that card!

we had a teacher that would let us have the front and back of a notecard. We used to do the same thing.

the thing is though, you'll spend so much time typing that sh!t up and squeezing it onto that paper that once the test rolls around you won't need it b/c the info all stuck in your head somehow. at least that's how it is for me.

True, one of our teacher once told us we can have 3 pages of notes but must be hand written. Than she said .. by the time you write three pages of notes, you got enough studying.

In a chem class I had once we could use a 3x5 note card double sided for the final. I fit around 30 pages of notes font 4 onto the card. The teacher said no magnifying lenses, so I purchased a pair of reading glasses (non-perscription) from walmart, and used those for the test. Worked like a charm, and got me an A+

Bah, you guys have it easy. Every test I've ever taken where the professor allowed a sheet of notes, the notes had to be hand written!

I should also note that in my chemistry class we were allowed to use the TI calculators. My professor had no clue what those things were capable of. Not only did I have a ton of chemistry programs which would give me all the info for the elements, calculate bonds, moality, etc, I also had half the book entered into that thing for notes!

TI 83s are real nice. The only problem is smart teachers will realize the capabilties of it, and then make the test long enough so that if you are constantly looking up information, you'll finish about half the test. :(

On a decent 600x600 dpi laser you should be able to easily read significantly past 8 pt, have you tried 6 or 5?

One time I wrote some notes into my calculator for a chemistry test because I forgot some of the formulas. I did pretty good on that test and was the first one finished. After I got done the teacher asked if he could see my calculator. I turned pretty damn white. While walking up there I tried taking out the battery to erase the memory but that didn't work. Thank god he only needed it for calculating grades. It's also a good thing that he thought I was trying to erase my 'games' on there. After that I went to the bathroom so I could throw away the huge brick I crapped out.

You can get this even smaller (and still readable by most folks) if your printer driver does 2 or 4-up printing (Prints 2 or 4 pages on 1 side of a paper). The EPSON Drivers do this automagically, as do others. Just use HiRes so you can read the extra small fonts. You can use the gaps between the pages to hand write in some notes.

If it's not in your printer driver, there are probably some utilities that'll do it for you too.

As others have said, many times having spent all that time cramming information into the cheat-sheet, it's usually stuck in your head and you don't need it, so, the teacher usually wins.

i would have just turned teh contrast all the way down. It looks like the batteries are dead and only those of us with grpahing calcs. can actually change contrast ;)

Am I the only one who thinks being able to have 1 natecard's worth of notes is absolutely retarded?

sitution 1) you're learning something that you're going to need to know off the top of your head, without any notes or time to look through them, something like CPR: You shouldn't get any notecards or anything, you should have to take the test the old fashioned way.

situation 2) You're learning something that you will always have access to reference materials for, let's say you're learning HTML: Might as well have as much reference material as you like, the internet will always be available to you when you're working on it, limiting your reference to 1 notecard is absurd. you didn't buy $100 worth of reference books and bookmark your 8 favorite websites jsut so that you can squint at a card with hardly any information on it.

The unlikely situation 3) You actually keep this notecard in your wallet, for emergency situations in which you need, say, the periodic table of elements <-- NEVER HAPPENS

I do the same thing. For my Electrical Engineering final exam, I got a page, both sides. I had so much information on there.
