I've seen a lot of locked threads, and recenty, two of my own. The mods did not respond to PMs inquring about the reason for locking, nor did they edit the OP to include the reasoning behind the lock.

While the reason for some threads is obvious, other threads are not breaking any rules and are not offensive. I feel that for every lock, the mods should edit the OP and explain what was wrong with it publicly. If they don't, how will we learn?

The mods must explain themselves!

What are the chances that the bans will actually be handed out?

Some people like posting worthless crap like that for some reason. It became a problem with 50 people posting it in a thread, wasting bandwidth.
