Hes running the MAC side, and hes googling stuff now, What would he have to do on his side to make sure that permissions are enabled. I mean I get on his regular hard drive
 
I assume this is to do with the firewire issue? You won't need to worry about permissions if you do it through samba (which you probably are doing). It you do what I suggested I'm sure it will work.

EDIT: just looked at the time stamp of your message... appears to be posted before you posted on the other thread 😛
