Hey Subaru WRX Fans: Noise (decibel) Ratings

Yo,
Was perusing Road & Track and noticed the noise levels in decibels while cruising at 70 MPH:

73 db Acura RL
73 db Acura CL
74 db BMW 330xi

73 db Subaru Impreza WRX

Considering its turbo and comparitively less sound dampening material on the WRX, pleasantly surprised to find its ride quietness comparable to significantly more expensive vehicles in the "near luxury" range.

Most of the noise in my WRX at 70 mph (~3k rpm in 5th) is wind noise with just a slightly audible whine from the turbo. The nicest engine noise is about 20 - 30 mph in second, slow accel and decel - the turbo sounds just like a police siren . *wipes mist from eyes

I don't know where they got those figures though... I've ridden in a 330xi and there's no way it was as loud as my WRX. There was a guy on i-club.com who bought some thin stickypad sound-deadening materials, basically ripped apart the doors and put this stuff in there, and put it under the carpet in the front and trunk. He said the car has much less noise at speed and the doors closed more solid-sounding. Added about 50 lbs though.
