What? UTIs can come from a lot of things. I have to strongly disagree with your statement that UTIs usually come from spermacide. Where is the logic behind that statement? UTIs are cause by harmfull bacteria getting into the urethra.

UTIs happen to women ALL the time, due to things like have sex (with or without protection), and not urinating afterwards (within a certain amount of time) to assure the urethra is flushed.

An untreated UTI can cause a bladder infection (cystitis). Cystitis is the most common type of UTI. If cystitis goes untreated it may infect the kidneys and cause pyelonephritis. Pyelonephritis is SCARY......your kidneys can shut down and you can be hospitalized for a long time.

OK OK..man...so it can come from other places. I just know my gf never had one before we started using spermacide and everytime we did she'd get a UTI within 2 days.

I don't disagree with that point at all, spermicides, diaphrams, etc can irritate the tissues down there and facilitate a UTI.

If you got anywhere near her anus you could have unintentionally moved harmful bacteria to the vagina. Considering that the anus is about 1 to 2 inches from the vaginal opening, that's not hard to do...

yup. if you fool around with the cave of the brown bear and don't keep it clean, she's going to start baking bread in her oven.
