But yet, I seem to not care. Because I use it as an argument for things that aren't exclusive on PS3.
 
Anyone who dismisses the idea of a "console exclusive" apparently isn't aware of the large segment of console gamers who have no interest in playing games on a PC. They can feel free to advertise their own ignorance.
 
I'm not sure why people would care about whether the console that a complete stranger chooses to play has exclusive games at all. I worry more about my own system and which of my friends would like to play with me.
 
I dont remember this argument being exclusive to the 360, I believe it always included the ps3.
 
Firstly, a lot of people here don't seem to understand the meaning of the word "exclusive". Secondly, why do people care about this? Isn't it better is the game is available on more than one platform?
 
I haven't heard fanboy arguments about exclusive games, but frankly I agree with them. This game is not exclusive. How can they advertise it as "only on playstation" when it is also available on the PC? Isn't that a lie?

Personally, I only care about "exclusivity" to the extent that it means I do or do not have to buy a system to play it (e.g. buying ps3 for valkyria chronicles). Regarding this DC Universe game, I have the option for purchasing it for either the ps3 or pc, so it is not exclusive.

Boy do I know it! I had a sales job between high school and college...never again. I'm just not cut out for that line of work.
 
i've been wondering if that game while have 2 seperate worlds (a console one and pc one) or if both have been grouped together.
 
360 games on the PC are not exclusive. Following that logic that PS3 cover is wrong.

Seriously? What a stupid decision. I can understand it for FPS games because PC players would dominate the hell out of console players, but for something like this there is no reason for it to not be the same servers.
 
Unless a game is published directly by Sony or Microsoft, they are all up for grabs at the end of the day. Console loyalties by developers started dying off when they realized that the horse they were backing weren't pulling enough potential game buyers. Ask Square about that one. Anyways, unless a game is first party publish, consider "exclusive" to actually mean "temporarily exclusive based on what kind of sweet deal we can get then go multi-platform 6 months later to maximize profits".

In any case, its not an exclusive if its out on the PC, no matter what console its for. There can be "console exclusives". Which is what we have in this case. Thats the bottom line.
 
I play almost everything cross-platform on a gaming PC, so "on PC = not console X exclusive" really is the way I think.

To me, Mass Effect 1,2, Dragon Age, Oblivion, Fallout 3 & New Vegas are all PC games that also happen to be available on one or more of the consoles I own.

To me, Crackdown 1,2 and Valkyria Chronicles are the "real" console exclusives since I have to fire up my 360 or PS3 to play them.

But I do understand for those without a gaming PC that Mass Effect 1 really is a 360 exclusive and DC Online really is a PS3 exclusive. Of course if you own both consoles that doesn't matter either 🙂
 
And how many people do not own both consoles at this point? I mean other than little kids whose parents won't buy them both, that is...lol

lots of people only own 1, of my friends im the only one with both. everyone else just has a PS3

Me. I have a PS3, Wii, and gaming PC, and not enough time to play the games I already have, much less pick up yet another console.

Some of us have a mortgage, kid, career, etc.

Is that game out yet?
 
I have a PS3 and PC, and I barely have time to game on one or the other, so as such my PS3 collects dust most of the time. I have almost purchased a 360 many times but I just know it will end up staying off most of the time :/
