A couple of suggested changes in the SETI section.

As per the suggestion of wilder the verbage about SETI being the "original" Distributed Computing Project should be changed, IMO, to: This is the largest Distributed Computing Project in the world!

I think we are now #8 in the world in the CLUB category.

I added a "Current situation" summary line at the end of each project. If a few nice teammates would fill in the blanks for me on some of the empty and/or correct me on the ones that I filled in...I would really appreciate it!

I'm going to submit this tomorrow, unless there are some more comments/suggestions that we would like to include. We really need to boost ALL projects for Team AnandTech. All the projects seem to be facing some sort of "other team" pressure.

Oh WARNING - Migroo has an idea!

I think we should have 'newbie' threads. By that I mean we should have threads in which newbies can post in if they are interested in joining/reading up on a cirtain project. Its sometimes daunting creating a new thread, let alone PMing someone you dont know - especially if you havent been into DC before. Contributing to a thread is far easier to do, in a lot of ways.

Thoughts? Obviously we should have threads for each project, but with the start of what could be a major recruiting drive about to be undertaken, it makes sence to do what we can for the duration. I propose we have one thread for 'Prospective members - please post here if you want to join etc'. It would be no trouble for us to post/PM them in response.

We could also link to this newbie thread in the recruiting post...

Thoughts?? 🙂

Regarding the order or projects, why don't we put them in alphabetical order. I do that always, when there is a possibility of people being offended or something like that.

Thanks for the corrections....guess that why I became an Engineer instead of an English major! 😱 (For those who don't know, PeterN is from the Netherlands...and has better English Grammar than I do! ...and my Dutch SUCKS..hehe! 😛)

The little list right above the descriptions was already in alphabetical order...I'm not sure whether to make the list entirely alphabetical order or not...

Jump in everyone and let me know if you want it change in order or not....

I think it should all be alphabetical, seeing as the list at the top is, and also if you put a link to MMs page that is in alphabetical order. That way there will be no "project x is bigger than y so should be before it" 🙂

If it's alphabetical it will also help people looking through the thread find a specific project easier if it's in the same order as the start 🙂

Hey, Engineer! Most non-english speaking people have better English grammar than English-speaking people cos they're taught the right way! But don't get me started on American "English" (or so u call it 😛) it's just all wrong! 😉

Well, rest asured, Engineer. You're not the only one being terrible in our language. 🙂 Here in The Netherlands most Dutch people don't know how their own language is spoken or written properly also. 😀 Even University graduates are writing letters and reports, that are full of typo's and grammatical errors. 😱

In almost every language game between Dutch and Belgian contestants (who speak Flemish, which is fundamentally different from Dutch), the Dutch horribly loose. 😀

There is nothing psecial about the forum, any TA-member can be a part of that.
The only reason it is a 'secret' forum, is to avoid other teams members spying on some of the threads and ideas generated.

So, if you are a known member of the DC-forum AND a member of TA, then nothing is stopping you to participate in it. 😀

Hopefully this explanation takes out the angle.

There was no intention of shutting out any TA-member. 🙂

Sorry I hadn't responded back sooner Migroo...I got pulled away (at work) and didn't have the time to actually do what I said I was going to do! 😱 Actually, sounds like a good idea. I went ahead and sent the thread to the mods for posting, but if we can whip up some individual threads, then I could give a revised thread with links to the mod for posting.

Also, I PM'ed the mod about not having the thread in Hot Deals....Hopefully, they will place it there too (sorta OT to you Migroo...just commenting in general about the recruiting thread! ) 🙂
