got a question, when you use a picture to create a wallpaper, how do you keep it so crisp and clean even at big sizes? (in photoshop or fireworks)

Well, if the original image is large, then it's already crisp. Just don't blow it up and it should be fine.

the original is 229x336 and i want to blow it up to about half a 1024x768 wallpaper, and it's a bit blurry

then you're gonna have to live with it.

Gaussian blur 🙂 Neither crisp nor clear, but it wont be blocky any more. Its almost impossible to stretch a 229x336 to 1024x768 and not have problems, as the inital resolution is so low.

Yeah, to make a clear picture you have to start at a higher resolution an move down. Most of my wallplpers come from the photo archive at af.mil and darpa's image archive. (i.e. decently high rez, often >1mb stuff)

Yeah, seriously...it's not like on TV where they take a 50x24 shot of a car from outerspace, zoom in, clear it up, zoom in again, clear it up again get the license plate and track the bastard down
