Probably not but I'm positive the monitor I picked is fine enough; that Dell monitor also has ghosting issues.

You think that bacause of TweakTown? Yeah, not a very in-depth review. All monitors ghost to some extent, but if it's response time is low you usually won't notice.

Hey look, these folks say no ghosting or blurring. Who are you to believe?

Besides the response time numbers are not set in stone. It's very possible for a better rated panel to be worse then a lower rated one.

I think it's nice how relatively quickly an overwhelmed n00b got to the point of figuring out a good build. (Except for not understanding IPS vs. TN monitors, but that's another story...)

Almost quaint. And the ips battle is never ending. :D

That's actually probably a good idea; any monitor recommendations?

also keep in mind I'm not ordering this stuff until Feb/March so are there any new GPUs to look out for?

Don't bother specing anything out right now. The deals will be completely different in 2 months.

EDIT: Your final edited build looks good though.

Then atleast recommend me a good IPS panel (budget priced). I cant find that Dell IPS panel for 200$ anywhere so I think that guy was on crack or something..

IPS is pretty much professional use and people who obsess over the best they can get. Dont go IPS honestly just get a nice 22-25 inch TN you wont notice a difference because you have never used IPS (once you go IPS you cant go back)

http://cgi.ebay.com/UltraSharp-U2211...item336404107f

the only problem with that is it's only 21.5"

OP, for gaming, you'll be fine with a TN, don't worry about it. I would put $200 on that ASUS 24". In fact, I just put it on my amazon wishlist. It looks great for my needs :).

Ok guys so I made some changes to my build..

I added an EVGA Superclocked GTX 470 (used to be 460 EVGA Superclocked) and a 600w OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply.

Didn't bring up the price too much..

good choice or?

I'd stick with the Seasonic PSU you listed earlier than go with the OCZ PSU.

Good choice? meh depends on your point of veiw, whatever fits in your budget.
Well 470 > 460 and I can fit it in my budget so might as well right...but I might somehow be able to get a sandy bridges 2500k + 460..so whats the best? 460 + amd quad core vs 470 + amd quad core vs sandy bridges 2500k + 460

AMD doesnt compare at the moment, you would take a good 40% performance hit going from the i5-2500k to the top quad core phenom. also you should wait til the 25th for the gtx 560 which is greater then or equal to the 470 with less power.

Well, that PSU is a downgrade, so I wouldn't go with that. I also wouldn't pay a premium for a "Superclocked" GPU. Just get the cheapest board that has the GPU that you want.

I'll probably go with a sandy bridge 2500k and GTX 460 or whatever nice card/deal is available when Im ready to buy this stuff. and the psu im getting is a 650watt antec earthwatt...i know, overkill but its so i can upgrade in the future.
