vs a thousand threads on one subject that would then push off other S/W topics.

I vote for the single game thread at this point.

Why can't there be a comfortable medium? That thread was already 100+ posts. And i don't see thousands of other threads. One thread talking about the game, another about optimizing it, another about pics, etc. I look at all the other forum, like when a new GPU is released, and i don't see all other threads being locked but an 'official' thread. When Vista gets released, are you going to lock all thread but a single thread? I guess we'll see. This forum is going to be sooo helpful with nothing but 'official' threads.

We wouldn't expect otherwise, since you such a "company" man.
Split the S/W forum off from games and the toys players can do what they want.
As long as S/W is merged in; then keep the clutter down so I can find S/W related questions without spending 10-15 mintues paging down through the previous days threads.

The amount of "7900" threads in video is much more than one. I think you guys need to get right on that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each of us hated Mods have areas/specialties that provides insight into the way a specific issue could be handled.

Everyone also jumps in to help out whenever we are asked by another Mod for assistance/advice.

Some are more proactive than others in their own specialites to keep control of situations or when assisting in others.

Sticky is not needed.

People can learn to search.

The title (although "unapproved") and the fact that the thread was the first to show is why the others are getting locked as fast as I can find them.

Mod

then you must like work . . . No one has learned to search in the last 6 years i have been here:p

i vote for the sticky

BTW, we can post anything in Video - no wonder multiple Oblivion threads are springing up there

At least Sticky your OWN 'technical' thread

please

Please stop locking oblivion threads. It's really, really annoying. Please stop.

Yes there are a lot of threads but it's a new title and very popular.
I don't want to wade through a nearly 600 post thread to find what I'm looking for or follow a particular topic.

Yes I know how to search but results are sporadic and not useful for following one of many discussions munged into one thread. "learn to search" is a complete cop-out. What if I want to "discuss" the topic instead of find one particular set of keywords?

The snapshot that someone took above illustrates what you are doing here. Try to follow just ONE of those conversations when all of them have been munged into the one with 588 posts. It's impossible.

You have basically made gathering information about Oblivion a complete chore. There is more than one "topic" under oblivion.

Why aren't you doing the same "consolidation" for: BF2, Vista, Ubuntu, Firefox, Gun etc?

Please stop. Thanks.

Did you *see* this pic? I mean, that's over 40+ threads in less than a week's time. 6-7 per day.

Yes, you guys found a new game. Yes, it looks pretty cool. Yes, we're happy for you. But you have completely drowned out all other threads in that forum. The snapshot of all the posts looks eerily similar to the "oblivion" search results.

You're not being picked on. When BF2 came out, there were tons of locked threads. When the the uber graphics cards some out, there are tons of locked threads. There aren't separate threads for each item on sale at Fry's in Hot Deals. The 9/11-conspiracy threads in P&N get locked and are attempted to be consolidated to a single thread.

Wait until the hype cools down and you'll have free-reign to post every single "I just killed a were-toad!! Pics and video included!" topic, just like the WoW guys can now.

because there is so much else going on in software.

and the 9/11 threads are just getting dumped into OT.

I didn't read this entire thread, so I don't know if this was said already. No matter if there's a sticky or not, there will be a bunch of reposted threads.
