Hey, if you work for walmart for 20 years, they give you a free polo shirt out of appreciation! SWEET!

1 year: keychain
5 year: cheap pen
10 year: cheapo watch
15 year: A 'Why the hell are you still working here t-shirt"

20 year: A bullet, a gun, and a blindfold - put yourself out of your misery.

I'm going to sign up right now! 😛

I laughed when i read this  Who the hell would work at walmart at one of their low-end jobs for 20 years? 😱

Typical e-penis enlarging elitist e-ttitude here on ETOT.

Exactly. For some people, they don't have the education nor much in terms of job choices. While I don't agree with Walmart's idea of fair wage and benefits, I don't ridicule those that choose to work there.

If I worked at walmart for 20 years and got a polo shirt as a "thank you", I would throw it in the trash.

Agreed. I'm not going to knock somebody that goes to work everyday.

You're right. Wal-mart should hire only college-educated people with a srtating salary of $50k plus full benefits. Sure, we may have to pay $30.00 for a pair of socks, but hey! You can't have it all, right?

So basically there would be no story if they gave nothing? I fvcking hate the NYT. I hope Mo Greenberg buys it and fires everyone and turns it into a conservative paper to bash hippies, liberals, socialists and communists.

oh no there would be.

it would be something like "so and so works 20 years at walmart and does not even get a shirt!" or something.

It's a lot better than someone sitting on their lazy ass all day collecting welfare.

My parents owned a 7-Eleven. They had an employee work for them for 24 years. Started as a cashier, ended as a manager. I think she was mostly afraid of change... afraid of learning new things. Deathly afraid of using a computer beyond the very simple, repetitive tasks she had to do daily at 7-Eleven. Now she works in an office, uses a computer and everything. I'm glad she finally broke free of 7-Eleven. 🙂 She probably never would have done it if my parents didn't sell the store.
