I have a Asus A7A266 /w 1.33ghz cpu
i duno
i have a fulltower and i'm afriad it might get too hot so i don't have the sidepanels on
it also sounds like a beeeech. I want it tottaly quiet but cooled off in a way

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of ways to cool an athlon system without a little noise... But you can. One option is to use packing foam on the sides and everywhere else to insulate the noise, another option is to install some real professional stuff that won't increase your heat such as Sound Deadening Material. On top of that, you can get a REALLY nice heatsink like an SK6 or Gladiator, then stick Panaflo fans in the case rather than any other brand on account of their liquid bearings that make their operational decibal level quite low.

On the heat side of things, it depends on where you live. For instance some people might have higher temps for their idle / full load's but then you ask what temp it is for their room or whereever the computer is being kept and the temp in that area is higher, so the environment is a big issue as well. I usually try to keep the ambient temperature below 80 degrees, if I can, 75 or so. Another thing to take consideration of is that the temps you see on an A7X series of boards is that Asus modifies the bios for stability, but unfortunately it results in higher temperatures on most boards made by them.

Not sure about your comfort level of modding, but perhaps a blow hole to reduce the temps and then use that insullation that was previously mentioned to keep the sounds low?

Grab some bigger fans (92mm or 120mm) and undervolt(7v instead of 12v) them with a fanbus (so you can turn them up if it gets really warm). The panaflo's (I believe its the "L" series are quiet to start with and when undervolted are really quiet). Then in the quest for silence you could watercool your processor since the 60mm fan on the heatsink is most likely the noisiest fan in your system anyway. Watercoolers radiators can use undervolted 120's and still cool very well.

I built a muffler for mine when I was running a delta fan. It consists of a shroud that goes over the output fans on the back of my computer that was lined with foam. The only opening was down near the bottom of the shroud and under it I layed a towel. This cut the sound somewhat, but not enough for me.
