i'm new to posting, but i've been surfing the forums for a while. since my current comp is rather slow, i decided i want to build a new one. the thing that scares me about building one is having all the parts, and building it, and then it not working. it doesn't seem too hard, but i'm still not too sure. anyone know a place where there's a good guide to build one, like with info on all parts and stuff like that. i was thinking about dell or something like that, but then i kno i could save a lot more money if i build it myself.

With the recent price wars from the major PC makers, you might not save much money, if any, building your own. There are advantages to building your own, like gaining knowlegde, self satisfaction, and having a cool hobby. But there are also a few to buying a prebuilt system like, price, warranty, not having to spend time shopping for parts, no headaches trying to fix and resolve problems, and not having to worry if everything will work.

Consider some of these things before trying built your own first PC.

That's what i was thinking about also. Gaining knowledge, self satisfaction, and having a cool hobby are definite advantages I appreciate. Thanks for the reply.
