come on... somebody ought to know this.. There's not much traffic in networking forum..

Is there something fancier than netstat to check whose connected to my computer and what kind of traffic I'm directing? also how can I find out the IP's of each user's on WinMX?

If you really want to find out what's going on, get a packet sniffer such as Ethereal (it's free!), and you can see each packet as it comes in and goes out. You can also set up filters to look at only certain types of packets, and avoid junk that you know you don't have to worry about.

do a netstat -rn at the command line and look for IPs that shouldn't be there :)

<< You could try this utility called Active Ports It displays local and remote IP address for all your connections. >>

damn that won't run on Win Me. The installer says Win NT is required.

Anything else you guys know of?
