i used too be with the seti anandtech team but dropped out due too a number of comp failures. well now im back and ready too roll again but i dont want too do seti anymore. Ive already got 3 machines running neo project rsa-576 and they will be switching over too the xbox project when its avalible. that leaves 2 machines free for an anandtech DC project however 1 machine is my newly modded xbox so it must be a linux project any suggestions??

my seti user name was Nuclear_idiot

oh and i read a bit of the neo project thread you have started i just have 1 thing too say about the 30 days of inactivity then deleting your accounts... they need donations Neo is the new guy on the block from what i understand they are running 7 USED p3 systems as their servers. This is why they cant afford too keep idle users. Dont respond too these comments on neo save that for the other thread im just giving u some inside info.

why not try DF?

distributedfolding has clients for many OS's , i run the linux client on about 9 pc's at the moment, never had a glitch

Welcome! back to Team Anandtech, "Nuclear_idiot", or should I say Khyron320? 😀

You and your PCs will be welcome to whatever DC project you decide to do for Team Anandtech! 😀

A necessary plug follows... 😉

Our Folding@Home TeAm (#198) could really use some help right now, as we're about to be passed by the team beneath us (Speedguide.net). If you're interested, check out a few temporary FAQs (in place until mechBgon gets a FAQ in place on anandtech.com). Some links to more tutorials, helper applications, etc. can be found in the Folding@Home Getting Started thread.

Hey how about trying Find A Drug. It works on cures for many different diseases, etc. Link

It is a small project so with 2 machines you could be a power house 🙂

i dont like find-a-drug it doesnt have cpu throttle at least i cant find it.

any1 have linux for xbox so it sets itself up? im really bad at using linux

I don't have an easy to install Linux for the xbox, but I do have a Linux distro that boots off of a CD-ROM, and runs off that CD-ROM, so when you are done, you can logout, remove the CD-ROM, and boot back into whatever distro you have, without needing or touching a hard drive. 😀

Plus it has TONS of applications loaded with it already, along with lots of hardware drivers. 😀

Osmo told me about it, who heard about it from Burnt_Kooshie.

Knoppix

I like it because I know zip about Linux, and it's real easy to install. 😀
