Wow, this would be nice... Not having to plug in a cell phone. Just walk into a room and it starts charging all by itself. I only have a few concerns.. Like what happens when your brain gets between the battery and charger?

And it's only 45% efficient. I guess if they make it up to 80-85% I'd be in for one. I can image these things being installed in airports and coffee shops... Never run out of juice for your laptop or cell phone. Would be even nice if you could put one in cars, or hotels...

Could make it standard compatibility for cell phone/laptop/digital camera etc...etc... standard batteries that auto connect and start charging...

I would be affraid of the potential side effets from a system like this... lighting storms in the kitchen lol.

I have a friend who works as an engineer for an appliance manufacturer that says this has been a focus for many years. The number one request from vacuum cleaner users is a powerful unit that is cordless. There are cute robotic "toys", but cordless vacuums with powerful motors are waiting for breakthroughs in battery technology.
