This is fine, cuz idiots like @SlowSpyder, the least intelligent NPC in P&N, will tell you Russia's interests are the US's interests. They will have no factual basis to support it, but they will say it. Better a traitor than a democrat.

It is true that it's kind of amazing how rapidly and easily patriotism has evaporated on the right. I mean, didn't it use to be their 'thing'? "Better dead than red", "love it or leave it" etc?

Turns out for most of them it was always just a pose and a weapon to be used to serve other purposes. Hence they can just discard it when the context changes.

Well, Russia is an oligarchy cloaked in the shell of a democracy. They also don’t like gays or brown people. The appeal to some isn’t a complete mystery.
