I don't know where I got them, I've had them for years, but I usually run these (nothing professional, just some random stuff):
Chemical Brothers - Bass Test.mp3 (4:16.. not the strongest but good beat atleast)
DRUM N' BASS-Bass Test - Deep Bass Tester.mp3 (3:23.. not too great but ok)
Sound Effects - Bass Test - Ultimate Sub Woofer Test.mp3 (1:14 minutes goes pretty low)
MARSHALL-P-BASS TESTAMENTS VOL 2.mp3 (ONE HOUR & TWENTY MINUTES! Perfect for turning your music on max and going out for a while to piss off the neighbors!)

For serious bass pigs only

This demo is used to make things levitate in the air on a extremely high powered system with multiple eighteen inch woofers with +/- three inch excursion and approximately 275 kW system power. It?s a crappy MP3 but the effect is still there ? I think.

NOTE: Most loudspeaker systems and commercially available subwoofers can NOT reproduce frequencies of the provided program material correctly at levels easily discernable to the human ear. To the inexperienced listener this often means increasing the volume level to the onset of amplifier clipping and/or speaker overload via exceeding maximum allowable mechanical excursion. You have been warned.

Addendum: Holy crap! This gives the "worms in the brain" sensation with UE-10 pros plugged into a firebox. Truly nauseating sensation.

Want to hear real bass? Give this a shot. No limiting or rolloff used. With a real subwoofer (extension to below 20 Hz) it makes the air move in the room big time.

DING DING DING. Looks like some people are running their subs WAYYYY to high. There is nothing in that song that could even constitute a bass test

meh. my $50 creative inspiron 2500's took care of it without a problem. don't even push it. take the Blueman's The Complex Rock Tour DVD and listen to the bass there and you'll understand what bass really is.

What's the original name of the song from the mod, OP? I can't get the Putfile link to work, but I have the mod installed already.

I don't like putfile myself. Many will view the source and link directly and their mechanisms can detect leaching and poof the files. :(

Unfortunately my connection to sites - particularly ftp sites - is restricted by ip address. If someone can offer hosting and I can get an ip added to the trusted listed of ip's (that's a fairly big if) I can provide direct links with no hokey-pokey.

I can make just about any sound you want in my cramped studio and provide any listenable format. Generally I record at 24/96 with everything and quality goes down from there with compression. 24/96 448k WMA professional does sound decently clean though. ;)

I have logi Z560's that are pretty old and the original file didn't really do much. Had bass, but not really all that much. The bass CD crutchfield gave out a few years ago worked it way more :p

the putfile one made my room shake, and would have made it shake more but my sub couldn't really do it justice me thinks :(

Yes I agree, its got great tonal quality, but anyone saying it was crazy bass, simply has an uncalibrated system
