Done my little part again and invited him to the DC forum to have a browse! And we seem to have made a point about DC clients 🙂

i never thought of DC clients in terms of things that might help you get friends and experience in other areas. It can be true in some cases i guess.
I used to run 3 DC clients and swithced from one to the other after realizing it wasnt leading to anything.
Ran RC5 for a while, then SETI, then that UDagent cancer thingie.
I think one day i just gave up thinking about where these projects were going. (I thought nowhere, but I guess its all about hope for others).

Anyway, your opinion on running these clients is respected.

I have two machines running 24/7

I have not noticed any change in the utility bill . . . .

I do not run SETI, AIM, or anything else, just download and surfing

I think it saves wear and tear on the components plus it keeps the room warm for the cats while we are away.

I just love the way people are so quick to jump up and bash something they know nothing about! Besides the guy is a Lakers fan and since he hasnt been able to complain for some time now that Shaq gets fouled everytime he runs into someone, he had to find something to complain about.

Sorry to all the DC Laker fans, no offense intended......hehe


 
My thoughts thrown in:

Computers are one of Man's greatest built tool, just as important as the wheel and Iron. Computers change lives every nanosecond and have the potential for saving lives every nanosecond, can you say that about your car sitting at red light stuck in traffic?
Now turn off your machine and diss Distributing Computing.

We are of course a free society and should you so choose to not contribute that is your right and choice.
