What are your methods (if you have any) to type even faster? I think I'm around 115-120 WPM but it'd be nice if I could go faster...

Do you just go to sites like typingtest.com and just try typing even faster (ending up with more errors) but as you progress your errors decrease? Or open up a program of some sort?

just...type a lot. i'm at around 105-110 wpm these days. if you're really interested in being faster, i hear switching to dvorak can have great results for some people.

Use offset finger positioning

I use awef hil/

5th left: a
4th left: w
3rd left: e
2nd left: f

thumb left: Space
Thumb right: unused

2nd right: h
3rd right: i
4th right: L
5th right: /

Most people hate it, but it works for me :p

Better spacing of the fingers. Fingers on more commonly used keys, etc.

My record is 150 with an lazy average of 100 and a concentrating average of 130. :)

A lot of people are faster on DVORAK keyboards, but they're so uncommon it's almost barely worth learning.

Back when I was in the required typing courses for High school I typed a record of 172 WPM with an average of 155. The highest person before me was the teacher, who thought her high of 122 WPM was unbeatable, and up until that point, had been.

I just tried the speed test from the other thread and I got about 144. Not bad, but I had a lot more mistakes then I remember.

Edit: And I don't use the "proper form". I learned to type using my own methods so the way I type now is kind of a mixture between what is proper and what is fastest. One thing I can think of now typing this is that I never use the right hand shift button. *shrug*

You can make your own Dvorak Keyboard. Just set it to dvorak in windows, get a lay out, pry up those keys, and have at it!
