A miniscule degree of socialist activity is required to dull the sharm edges of a free market. The government interfering to the magnitude of taking over one of the world's largest car manufacturers is a gross overstepping.
Since the collapse and total liquidation of GM would have effected hundreds of thousands of Americans, where do you draw the line? It you believe it's governments job to dull the sharp edges of a free market, I do not see how you could not support the government involvement in GM when this would have been complete disasters for hundreds of thousands, and possibly millions, of Americans.
People seem to forget that the idea of helping GM out first surfaced in late November/early December, before Obama took office.
