I challenge every regular poster here to go for the next four days - that's right, until next Monday morning - without using the word "liberal"/"commie"/"leftist" or "conservative"/"Nazi"/what-have-you in a sentence unless you're actually referring to a conservative, a liberal, or a communist. That means no using it perjoratively, no using it as a means of "dismissing" an argument, etc. For the next four days, let your arguments speak for themselves without relying on partisan name-calling to back you up.

I seen pictures of some of these twerps over in OT. I don't think they could bully thier way out of a wet paper bag. They are living out thier fantasy to be a bully though. Since they don't have to worry about finding themselves in a dumpster behind a bar someplace like said face to face.

The constant name calling and labelling is one of the reasons I don't post much. It doesn't seem like it's worth the time to post in a thread that dissolves into name calling.

I generally avoid labels like that anyway since it's usually more fun to pick people's arguments apart.

Since I normally avoid it, I guess that means I'm in.

This is a good idea, even a GREAT idea. I'm in, BUT . . . only if the ground rules are explicitly and painstakingly posted and everyone involved publically agrees to the posted rules.

We really ought to make the prohibitions more airtight and broad based and inclusive so none of us can weasel snipe and claim to be technically abiding by some rules of civility when we're really not.

Also, we must have some sort of "absolute non-response" policy to anyone not joining in.

non-response policy? Eh?

Any "kitty" should be donated to this site to do with what they please IMO. We waste a bunch of the bandwidth here(by looking at our post counts) so I think it should all be given there. Or if not this site then an agreed upon charity or something in the site's name. But the charity idea might prove to be difficult to agree on since we have people from all over the world posting and hopefully participatings in this. To the site I say - for anything they wish.

Oh and since you are a MOD perknose - I think you'd suffice as the bearer of the "kitty"

Conjur - a list might be appropriate but it would not be limited to that list alone. The guidelines for the "nuanced" ones will have to be agreed upon though.
