u see someone trying to ignite a bomb on your plane and that's the first words that come out of your mouth...LMAO

http://www.freep.com/article/201110...ombing-trial-begins-Hey-dude-your-pants-fire-

Airline passenger Michael Zantow realized something was amiss on Flight 253 to Detroit when he heard a passenger tell Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab: "Hey, dude, your pants are on fire."

It was pandemonium from that moment on.

Zantow was the first government witness to testify Tuesday on the first day of the highly anticipated terrorism trial of Abdulmutallab. The 24-year-old Nigerian student is charged with trying to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner with explosives hidden in his underwear on Christmas Day 2009.

According to Tukel, Abdulmutallab was born and raised in Nigeria and came from a wealthy, successful family. His father owns a bank in Nigeria and made about $150,000 a month, Tukel said. He said the defendant attended the best schools.

whatever happened to spending your parents' cash on crazy parties, wrecking sports cars, beating up hookers, and doing blow?

Greetings and salutations:

I am the son of Mr. Abdulmutallab Sr., owner of largest bank in Nigeria who unfortunately recently passed away, leaving $150 million in escrow account unaccess to anyone in Nigeria. I have a proposal...

Seriously. How the hell did he get past security with a bomb strapped to his underwear? I thought scanners were supposed to solve all our problems?

Also, I guess he misjudged the necessary volume of one of the compounds so it only popped instead of banged. Thank god for retarded terrorists. Glad those people are safe.

It was molded with/as his underwear, iirc.

How does a bank, one in Nigeria no less, make $150,000 USD in profit each month? I don't understand how this is possible. Let's say they are giving out house loans. I don't know what the rate is in Africa but say it's 7%? I am just making this up. 150k x 12 months = $1.8M interest a year. 7% = $25M in loans. Did I do the math right?

Probably petroleum related money.

Nigeria's proven oil reserves are estimated by the U.S. United States Energy Information Administration (EIA) at between 16 and 22 billion barrels (3.5×109 m3),[1] but other sources claim there could be as much as 35.3 billion barrels (5.61×109 m3). Its reserves make Nigeria the tenth most petroleum-rich nation, and by the far the most affluent in Africa. In mid-2001 its crude oil production was averaging around 2.2 million barrels (350,000 m&#179😉 per day.
