1. Anyone have Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
2. How do you like it?
3. How does it compare to Scenes from a Memory?
4. How does it compare to Images and Words or Awake?

Thanx,

I dont have it per se, but since I have most of DT's songs as mp3s on my drive, I can say: It rocks. It rocks hard. I'd say its about as good as Scenes. Maybe just a little bit better than Images or Awake. Althoug, really, depending on my mood any of those can be my favorite at the moment. All I can say is, you wont be disappointed.

I on the other hand am a fan of the band and try to support them. I have all of their CDs and 6DoIT is one of their best.

It's a little harder than Scenes...somewhat between Scenes and Images and Words. You should definately buy it!

I'm just waiting to get some money before I buy their CDs. Sorta hard to barter for CDs at most stores....

I had no idea what kind of group they are, but then I saw a good number of mentions online and t-shirts around class, so I "got" their Six Degrees japanese release........nice stuff. 🙂

Sorry that I'm of no help whatsoever, in respect to your question. 😱 I'm sure someone else can help.

1. Yes
2. I love It!
3+4. Its hard to compare the different albums, considering each one is so different from the other. Its definitly one of the their better works, although its hard to place in that field. If you're going to get it though, make sure you set aside 42 minutes of time to listen to the second CD in its entierty. Even though Its broken up into different tracks, its all one song.

Yeah, I know 3+4 were kinda hard to compare, but the reason I asked is 'cause I felt like on Scences they sacrificed melody, arrangement<sp?>, and the "story telling" aspect of the album in favor of insturment masturbation (playing something because they could, not neccessarly<sp?> 'cause it added something to the song/album). Where as w/ Images and Words and Awake I felt like they had a near perfect balance of technical playing and emotion/soul in all of the songs. But, I love DT so I'll pick up the album in good faith and give'er a whirl...

Thanx,

You will be happy to know that I recently acquired twenty bucks and bought Scenes From a Memory... God thats a good CD. I find it ironic that LaBrie writes exactly none of the songs. IMO, DT would be even better if they got a new vocalist, or even disposed of one altogether. Their musicality is so great that their instrumentals and pseudo-instrumentals are their best pieces.

Hey, They are so awesome live btw 😛

Anyway here we go:

1) Yes
2) Love it
3) Much like it, a bit harder though.
4) Doesn't. Those two albums are classics that this cannot touch, however it is awesome in it's own way. They have gotten more hard in my opinion over the years, and this is proof. DL The Glass Prison if you want a sample. If you cannot find it, drop me a PM, I'm always willing to help a fellow DT fan out.

1. Only downloaded one of the discs
2. It wasn't bad. I really haven't given it a good whirl tho.
3. On first listenings I think it is much better than SfaM. I just hate the entire feel of that album.
4. Nothing can touch these two albums, IMO. Bring back Kevin Moore!
