There are so many issues that people have with the new version of the software and some seem to be being talked about and others look as if they are ignored, but that's just from the forum users perspective. For all we know, you guys are working 24/7 to try to address all the issues and get them straightened out.

How about a sticky topic in which you list every single issue that's been listed on this forum as an issue and keep it updated so that we lowly people can have a clue as to what's going on? It's much easier to be patient when one knows that a problem is being worked on than it is when one thinks their concerns are simply being ignored. For that matter... it's even better to know that some issue simply isn't going to ever be addressed than it is to feel like your posts/requests are being overlooked or ignored.

What do you think? Could you give us the info in a single thread that will keep people appeased for a bit?

Ah, wouldn't that be nice!

Like search - Jason said 2 1/2 weeks ago that indexing archived threads would take a couple of days. It still doesn't work and no further explanation has been given.

It would be nice to know if they're even planning to address items. Which of the items we've suggested is even under consideration? Are there plans to fix the items we consider broken?

Should we continue to report bugs? There's no acknowledgement of them. Sometimes I feel like they're just being reported into a big unread void, especially when they don't get fixed.

How hard is it to update some of this?

Of course we can't even get someone to take 2 minutes to post a "Thanks for bearing with us - the entire site was down for many hours Sunday because..." message.

On the other hand, we now have a thousand categories with unreadable truncated names. :)

Sigh. Whine over. Thanks for listening.

allisolm,

Your vent and vexation are precisely what I'm talking about, and why I feel there is a need for a thread like the one I described. I can only hope that the childishness of my all CAPS title and the desire of the users will be enough to urge someone forth to make an issues news/info/update thread.

And no one can even give me a :cookie: to make me feel better, since that, too, is broken. Sniff, sniff.

Hopefully someone out there in AnandTech/Fusetalk land is listening.

Here's my contribution. The following are items I saw people mention as being broken, missing or just wished for. Some of them may have been fixed, some I'm sure I left out completely. But I tried. Maybe this will be of some help.

Broken
Search - on more than one level
Rig editing
cookie icon
formatting problems (scroll bar, buttons off screen, etc)
My Forums - ''Hot Topics" and "Recent topics that I have Started" both return only one result
using https link in reply adds an extra "https://" to the link
member ratings show up but no way exists to rate them
ignored users not working correctly

Missing
last page link in threads
highlighting of visited threads - Derek said in another thread 6/20/2007 "this should never have left. we will have this one addressed."
popular color themes
not letting you know what is censored in a post (some non-profanity things are censored and members have no way of determining what they are)

Wished for
narrowing of sidebar and/or elimination of truncated category names
list of categories in advanced search arranged in some sort of order
avatars/user information block fonts made smaller
way to unsubscribe from threads
buddy list below categories

I seriously doubt anyone will be addressing all of those issues in public. We are getting exactly what we paid for.
We've seen a lot of changes lately and the new Admin seems receptive. I am sure it's being addressed.

I seriously hope nobody is paying for Fusetalk in this state. I know I would not be a happy customer.

I guess I didn't express myself well. I'm trying to be part of the solution rather than just a complainer. I thought maybe, if I assembled a list of the major things I've seen reported, then someone, be it Admin, Mod, member, developer, could say "Hey! We fixed that" or "I noticed this works now" or "We have no plans to change that." (Notice I didn't include anything about the star ratings as Derek has said they will be staying.)

All I really want is a search function that works. Most of the other items don't apply to me or I can work around. (Well, the cookie thing is uber important. :) )

I didn't take it that way. I just meant I can't see them posting a specific list. Just a statement like "we are working on it".
In another thread someone said Dereck said he is looking at different software. Anyone have a link?

Derek,

Thank you!!!!... both for responding and for creating the issues thread.

As way of thanking you (in addition to saying thank you) I used the new feature of rating threads and gave it a 5 star!

Thank again for listening to us.
