What's the DVD playback going to be like on the RAMPAGE cards in terms of image quality and CPU use. What will be the options for this feature, I see a few scenarios:

-RAMPAGE card w/ software decoding, does the chip have harware acceleration for cosine transformation

-some RAMPAGE card designed with onboard decoder chip (like the Rage theater chip)

-RAMPAGE cards have a connector for compatibility with VoodooTV, daughter board, and/or others

Can anyone spill some beans here...

Gotta agree with Sunner, bundling a high-quality software DVD player does a card's "public DVD quality image" much more good than implementing hardware support into the chip. I mean just look at Matrox G400 - zero hardware support with superb propieatary playback software has gotten many ppl recommend it as a DVD solution.

OTOH with Rampage 3dfx seems to go back to the good old days of Voodoo1 - market-leading feature set. And hardware iDCT and MC sure can't hurt a chip on this area :)
