Would there be any audible difference between this:

Stereo 3-conductor 1/8" solderless gold-plated. $3.99

as a opposed to this:

Mono 2-conductor 1/8" solderless gold-plated. $2.99
???

Stereo 3 conductor vs mono 2 conductor

Me is on budget.

These jacks will be used in 16 ga cable for the klipsch promedia 2.1s. The stock cable is 22 ga

It would probably depend on where you planned to stick that mini-plug.

The first one is stereo, the second is mono. Go with the stereo, unless you are sticking it into a radio or sound card that in not, then use the latter.

No, for speakers your only going to use 2 conductors anyway, for a stereo line, you'll use 2 conductors + the shield.
oops... posted before I was done. A little more specifics, are they feeding speakers, or coming out of your soundcard stereo (line level) into an amp?

So you're trying to determine which plug you need to connect the speaker wire to the speaker, right? You need the mono plugs (but if you get the stereo, it'll work too). Yes, I'll say it again, the ProMedia 2.1, 4.1, 4.2, and v.2-400 uses MONO miniplugs to connect the speaker wire to each satellite.

these are from SPEAKER to SUB!!

they are feeding the speakers..

Will it make any audible difference?

EDIT: I know that they both will work! i'm just wondering that, as an amateur audio enthusiast, since it states stereo and mono, that stereo may sound audibly better?

Hmm, in that case, I'm fairly sure that you're looking at the wrong thing. What you need is pins not miniplugs to connect the wire to the amp (aka the ProMedia subwoofer). I'm still sure that it's a mono connector that you'll need. I'm sure Radio Shack sells something like THIS. If not, just head to your local Circuit City or Best Buy and buy the Monster Cable ones.

Again, you're not really going to notice any difference in sound quality. I helped my friend do "upgrade" his speaker wires for the Z-560s and we even used Banana Plugs on the ends of the wires. I am currently using the same 16 gauge MonsterXP speaker wire on my ProMedia 5.1s and notice no sound difference from the stock wires.

EDIT: Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that even if you decide to use better speaker wire, you do not have to put any sort of ends to your wire... remember, the amp has standard spring clips so you can just put the bare wire into the amp.
