Up in here Baltimore (death in the family:(), and I saw a black BMW Z8. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tight. I nearly cried looking at the thing. Even my dad was foaming and he doesn't even like 2-doors/convertibles.

All my mom said was "nice" :D

Guess I'll be pimping US Air tomorrow to get back home (I hate flying, scares the crap out of me).

The Z8 is an INSTANT classic. 400HP V8 driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed transmission---The "Ultimate" Driving Machine :p

I am eligible to go get my day license anytime now. I already got insurance on me to. I wonder if he would give me a trade in with my '75 Nova???

Yeah that car would be nice if it didn't cost $128,000!! There's sports cars cheaper and faster...

$128K for a Z8? Damn... I had NO clue they were that expensive. Why not go buy a Ferrari F355 for that kind of money? Or for a little more, a 360 Modena?

WAY overpriced IMHO.

There's cars that provide more bang for your buck. Another reason why I wouldn't want to drive one of those is the size. I'm sure it works great in European and Asian markets where they drive little mini cars, but here in the land of 200" Camaros/Firebirds, it seems kind of risky (in that you'll get squashed by some trucker who doesn't see you) if you drive one of those things. (BTW, I'm making the assumption here that the Z8 is around the same size as the Z3/M Roadster, since I've never seen a Z8 on the road before).

I agree, they are way way overpriced. BUT, whoever had the thought to stick a V8 in a car that size had a serious need for speed. These cars gotta be crazy fast.

Isn't that what an AC Cobra is all about?

Brandon,

I hope you're holding up ok pal, death is never an easy thing to deal with.

Now who said the Z8 was my dream car? I think you're more of a Z8 fan than I am ;) I'll admit that the Z8 is a beauty, but it's entirely too heavy. Until the F360 Spyder hits the streets next year, and Porsche's 996TT Cab (it's going to be produced, Porsche hasn't confirmed it yet but it will be) later in 2001, the Z8 will be the best convertible out there. Notice the use of the word until ;)

You could prolly get a F355 Spyder for the asking price of a Z8 (don't plan on being able to pick one up at MSRP, if you don't wanna wait, you're gonna pay), but definitely not a F360 and absolutely not a F360 Spyder.

Take care,
Anand

I've seen the BMW Z8 in person and have taken pictures of it. I'll put it up soon so you guys can see it.

BTW, I saw it at the Toronto Auto Show. It's a nice car but I like the looks of the Jaguar F-Type better.
