Not bad, the 560 is 10% faster than a 460 clock for clock. Must be due to the increased shader count. How much more does a 560 cost over a 460 ?

edit: A 560 is $100 more than a 460.

Better than the 580 and its 6% faster than a 480 clock for clock performance.

Thermals and power consumption don't matter to nvidia and its market, it's all about raw performance.

Oh wait... this is not six months ago..

The guy with 3 480s is making fecitious remarks about nV's "market", and its lack of concern for power consumption.

I..uh....wha?

Wasn't being facetious. Number one for me is raw performance. Sure I would rather my system did not sound like a 747 when I game and didn't give off enough heat to make me break a sweat.

But, straight-up performance is still the #1 thing. Considering you can pick up used 480s for $250 now, it's the reason I wouldn't spend $1500 on 3 580s to get 6% more performance over my current overclocked setup, which someone could pickup for $750 off ebay.

How does the 5850 compare to the 5870 with the same clocks or mabe the 6970 and 6950 with the same clocks. How about the 570 vs the 580 with the same clocks.
Hmm, lets try the 6870 and 5850 with the same clocks

I don't understand posting something that fairly well known allready about all cards.

Edit: just checked my 5750 at 5770 clocks, what do you know, there about the same performance wise. :)

Oh OK. That is what I get for attempting to read tone.

Exactly why I think all those cards above $200 are overpriced. Every single one of them. Oh well.

To be fair Skurge, the 5870,5850,and gtx460, gtx470, are on there way out , so we know why they are priced so low.

Thats just the way the ball bounces.

Ya, they aren't going to be manufacturing them anymore, so they are only a good value for the next month or so. After that they will be impossible/difficult to find, particularly the higher end models.

This review made me feel a lot better about getting a 460. I might have paid a few dollars too much for it, but I don't think cards with custom coolers are going to hit below $100. I just wish they would have put a Mini Displayport port on it instead of that useless mini HDMI. Oh well, at least they got bitstreaming working properly.

If only the 460's could overclock as well as the 560's do.

Going past 900 is not uncommon, and 1Ghz is rare yet still possible. The 560 doesn't clock too much higher. I think I would rather do a 6950 to 6970 than overclock a 560 anyway.

I have , in fact I can hear them from my house at 1.3 v @ 1000 core.
Wait no, that a 747 passing overhead, I'm near a airport. :)

edit: never mind it sounded like a overvolted overclocked 6900 series, but it was actually a gtx480.

The 460 and 6850 are not on their way out. Well the 6850 definitely isn't and I doubt nvidia would leave the >$200 market all for AMD by EOLing the 460. both those cards are almost half the price of the 6950/560. So yeah, even without the 5870, 470, etc. those cards are still overpriced.

Say that again?

I said the 5850,5870,gtx460and,gtx470 are on there way out.

5850 and 5870 were replaced by the 6 series and the gtx470 was replaced by the gtx560 and the gtx460 is gonna be replaced by the next 5 series in a few weeks.

How can you not see this?

So? Whats your point? 6850s are still around and they are half the price of a 6950/560. What I said still stands.

Nevermind................... Mabe you will see it later..:(

edit:
I will say it again, the reason for the prices being so low for the 5870 5850 gtx460 and gtx470 is because they are on there way out.

Slow enough?

Therefore, thats why they seem so cheap compared to the newer cards.

I am explaining the reason why they seem overpriced for you in post # 12, when you said they are all overpriced..

If you're referring to the 550, it is not going to replace the 460. What could replace the 460 is a 560 SE - a crippled 560. But when would that come out? The 460 SE came months after the 460, will that be the same with the 560 SE? I think it's pretty inevitable Nvidia brings out more cards with the 560 moniker, since they brought back suffixes with Ti, but when? The 460 is most likely going to be around for a while, probably will stay around longer in concurrence with its replacement than 5800 and 400 cards are staying around with theirs.
