On 9/4/03 Someone Posted that HP.COM had 256mb pc2700 for sale for $5.15 per stick. On that day I ordered 3 sticks. Today on 9/8/03 I received an email from HP.com canceling the order. I Know that this was a price mistake but I was wondering if everyone out there that jumped on this deal had there orders cancelled or not. Thanks

I checked my order status today (4 sticks ordered). Apparently they have already verified my credit card and show a ship dateof 9/24 via UPS. I have not checked to see if they have charged my card yet. Seems to me that if they take money from you they have completed a contract regardless of their disclaimer. Also, I would think you would be owed interest on your money if they used it, even for a few days.

Look for the RED "D" on your order status... I t will be cancled soon....... If they did Place a hold on a card for a Dollar amount ,that does not qualify as a final transaction to a cantract.!

I stand corrected. Just got the aforementioned turn down letter. I remember the good old days when a vendor honored his prices, even if in error, just a gesture of good will and hopes of getting your future business. It was a gamble and nothing was lost. Maybe next time
