HEVC playback video memory usage

I'm having problems deciding between a 2gb and 4gb RX550 for a htpc. Will the extra memory do anything for video playback? Or will 2gb be plenty for 50mbps++ 4K HEVC?

I've tried doing the research, but haven't found much on hevc memory usage.

Look up at the spec of smart TVs and smart phones. With only 1GB ram they run it like a breeze. My TV start to choke a little at around 100mbps so you should be good at 2Gb. Oh, I forgot, I played HEVC 4K videos with HD7870 just fine ( OFC not hardware accelerated ).
