Heterosexuality

My belief is that the expression of heterosexuality is both genetic and environmental in nature.

Humans show traits that are on a scale between masculine and feminine. Someone who exibits both sets of traits equally is considered androgenous.

I believe that how suceptable a person is to engaging in heterosexual thoughts / acts is correlated to where a person falls on this scale (genetics codes for what range of traits can possibly be expressed and the environment places you somewhere in that range)

What I'm curious about is are there any apparent advangates for heterosexuality to exist?

We can see that many animals show some form of heterosexuality wether it is just a physical release, or they can't tell the difference between a male and female, or if a lack of males causes males to think they can successfully mate with other females I don't know.

Is it possible that while our decendents were first evolving there weren't 2 sepatate sexes and heterosexuality is genetic code that was just never removed and and managed to stay in a consistant proportion of the population so as not to disappear.

Is it possible that our species is evolving to a single sex?

Do you have any other explanations? I'm not too concerned with the social aspect of the discussion in this thread.

I think my expression of heterosexuality is driven by the fact that my sticker pecks out when I get those fresh beaver pheromones on my olfactories.
Ummmmmmm-waaaaaaa.
