He was great in Layer Cake, but I agree that he's not the Bond type. Maybe it's just that I grew up in the 90s, but I see Brosnan as the epitome of 007...even Connery (although he's an awesome actor) isn't quite as right for the role as Brosnan was.

yeah there is a LOT of backlash over the choice to have him as Bond. can't blame them. he just does not fit the idea of James Bonds

its not just the choice of actor.
early reports of not having all that many gadgets and the other facets that make a movie a "bond movie" are supposedly to a minimum
compared to brosnan or connery movies.

He fits my idea of James Bond and I'm glad he was chosen for the role. No, he's not Brosnan, but I never liked Brosnan much. Craig can (and hopefully will) bring a bit of the darker side into the movies. Brosnan never had the weight for that.

agreed. I'll admit, i'm not a huge Bond fan (especially after Connery) but the pretty boy with stupid gadgets thing is old, real old.

if the movie reviews well (3 out of 5 stars, not bad for a bond film) i'll go see it.

I like Pierce Brosnan as Bond the best. I will not watch any James Bond movies until they find somebody that fits the James Bond profile. This guy's a joke.

I want them to cast Pierce Bronson as the next villian. That will REALLY piss off the fan boys!

I'm looking forward to the next one. :) Craig may not be the stereotype, but he'll do great.

It's a shame that Sean Bean already played a bad guy - he could have worked as a Bond.

Plus many of these stories have been disputed.

''No, his teeth didn't get knocked out,'' says director Martin Campbell, taking a break from shooting a scene in which Craig, looking tanned and orthodontically undamaged, chases a bomb-toting baddie. ''What happened was that one of his caps came loose while we were filming in Prague. A local dentist came to the set, put a bit of glue on it, and that was that. The whole thing took 10 minutes.''

Hugh Jackman I believe.

Craig doesn't look like a James Bond personality. I could be wrong though. I bet it will be a fun movie no matter what.

Sean Connery was the Ultimate Bond tho!

Clive Owen should have been the next bond.

 to Daniel Craig.

It's unanimous. Daniel Craig was a bad choice. He's blond, too old, doesn't remind me at all of james bond"

I too liked him in Layer Cake, but i don't know how he got picked to be Bond. In the Casino Royale book, James Bond was 29 years old. Not that iit matters a whole lot, but i think they should of got a younger Bond. I don't have anyone in mind, but it couldn't of been too hard to find a better choice. I would of liked Clive Owen as bond a lot better.

People, Roger Moore was not Bond.

Sean Connery was Bond with Brosnan a close second.
