Some believe Apple has gone too far this time. How important is your privacy to you?

And how hard is it to keep a topic to a single thread? Its another article related to this previous thread of yours: LINK
Just update your OP with the additional article, don't start new threads about the same thing.

Honestly I could care less, ZOMG GPS!?

Why don't they write something better, along the lines of the ~20% of Android apps that have access to your whole phone's data?

Getting really tired of this crap, TBH.

IMO German privacy laws are SUPER restrictive. I've had to work with them before and they aren't even ok with doing non personal tracking.

For instance, they have a problem with going to a website and tracking clicks. Even if it isn't tied to a user. So I'm not really surprised.

*NOTE: I'm not German, this was information that was sent to me from a client I had to work for that said this is how restrictive their laws are.

lol, have you seen the EULA for Android?

Newsflash: companies use your location and info for monetization.

here you go, from LA Times:

As a point of comparison, Google has said for some time that it collects geo-data from Android phones. On a page about its mobile privacy practices, the company also offers this rather opaque description of what it collects and when:

If you use location-enabled products and services, such as Google Maps for mobile, you may be sending us location information. This information may reveal your actual location, such as GPS data, or it may not, such as when you submit a partial address to look at a map of the area.

Big fucking deal, this has always been the case with many other phones as well. It's even true on your own PC... most ads are targeted (for those that don't have adblock on). I'm so sick of this shit that has been around for a long time, or that other companies are guilty of being pointed squarely at apple and only at apple. I hate the apple fans as much as the next guy, but these ANTI apple fans are getting much more annoying.

Google is infinitely worse.

Mining your emails, voice mails (if you use google voice), web searches, Buzz updates, map searches/GPS, ect.

This is just another one of those "hate Apple because its cool" thing as it doesn't examine the practices of the competition.
