He can't find a job at a fast food place or something similar? Those should be fairly easy.

Seriously, to those mocking him, at least he's trying.

I'm showing this to my 15 year old and telling him, "If this Emo fucker can look for a job, then what's your excuse????".

He probably would stand a better chance if he got a clean-cut haircut first, showing up at an interview or filling out an application with hair covering half your face will only convince potential employers "if this kid's to dumb/lazy to get an $8 haircut before applying, how good of a worker will he be?". Of course he might be a bust-ass worker but first impressions last..

I didn't find anything funny about it.

Heck, I bet some people reading the post are unemployed adults. No shame in that.

If I can get a job at 14 I'm sure that fagbag could, just cut your hair, dress like you want the job, and don't act like an idiot.

I am betting fast food places are "beneath him" or he has a really closed schedule.

Is he willing to get a hair cut?

In his current state, he looks ready for a surf shop or pot dispensary.

He displays a mediocre grasp of the English language and the spelling aptitude of a 5th grader. My guess is that you'll get sub-par work out of him for even the most mundane tasks...The only thing he has going for himself is initiative in putting this horrendous post up. Kudos for that.

I bet he could google the fuck out of some pot and porn links though...

Says he's in college at 16 years old. That would indicate above average intelligence to me.

For his generation that is a rarity. Best of luck to him

My daughter, who is now 19 (same generation) has worked since turning 16. Just over 3.25 years now (while going to high school and college). Seems lots of kids do it in college (so says my daughter).

The rarity is being able to get a job and keep it.

Probably for a GED equivalency test, if he's 16 he should still be in HS unless his grades were so good and he took on extra courses he was allowed early graduation, I'm not seeing that so it's probably for the GED.

yup, though at least around here it is technically possible to graduate after 10th grade if you take highschool level classes in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade as well as doing summer school for high school English for 2 years.

Dear Devin. Get a haircut. While we don't judge people based on their looks, our older clientele DO. Thus, we're not sticking you into any position that is seen by the public. Good day.

Edit: On second thought. Dear Devin, we have found the following errors in your Craigslist advertisement seeking a job. We feel that a serious candidate, worthy of hiring would have at least double-checked their post for errors. While we would accept that you may have overlooked one or two errors, your advertisement sells yourself as someone with a lack of attention to detail and who feels that shoddy results are acceptable. When we expect burgers to be flipped at the 90 second mark, we expect that detail to be followed rigorously. For future reference, we have pointed out some of your errors:

Dear Devin (cont.), and truthfully, we're torn between whether you are seriously seeking a job and are stupid, or this is just a prank of some sort.

Bet you he'd be a damn good *nix admin. Don't they normally look like that?

A lot of people do. Some of the most brilliant, insightful people I've met have been covered in tats, and have long hair. I assign value to unorthodox appearance. Without saying a word, you imply you're true to yourself, and aren't wearing a mask to get ahead in life(an ass kissing weasel). If his qualifications looked good, and I liked what he had to say, I'd prefer him to someone more "polished".
