Hershel Walker looks insanely jacked for someone near 50.

Any pharmacist or doctor you talk to says the RDA is 60grams even for putting on muscles. Well, that's what they are taught in pharmacy and med school.

big medical for any accurate statement on fitness?

christ why is the fda afraid to put a daily value on nutritional labels then?

even they got rid of the 50 grams per day "suggestion" and changed it to .8 grams per kilogram of body weight

While fit, looks way unhealthy to me. Vegetarians have the potential for many deficiencies, including essential fatty acids (including Omega3 and aminos, iron, zinc, B12, K2 and D3 etc.

Unhealthy? You need to get your eyes checked/

The cuts and definition are deceivingly striking, just as a bare body striped of muscle and fat would be. This dude is likely grinding down his body. Bet he has little left in the tank by 60/70 years-old.

In fact, he actually resembles the emaciation you often see in the sickly and elderly... just my opinion.

Can't trust anything Walker said about his workout regimen. He was and maybe still is mentally ill with multiple personality disorder.

There have been interviews with some of his teammates about how when injured he would completely change personalities, he dislocated his shoulder in a college game and turned into a completely different person for the rest of the game, to cope with the pain apparently. There were interviews when he was entering the draft early where he would get nervous and randomly start referring to himself in the third person. Tone changes, speech cadence changes, etc.

Obviously he is in great shape, but exactly how he is there I don't think you can trust his answer. Not saying PED's or w/e, but he may not be able to give specifics because the guy who answers the reporter's questions is likely to be different than the guy eating his meals and working out.

Just because he has a mental illness which has been treated for many years, doesn't make him a liar.

Statements like yours are why internet doctors are such a crack up! Where is your medical degree from?

I test perfect 20/20 from years of consuming taurine, zeaxanthin, lutein, astaxanthin, vitamin C etc. :)

In fact, I even think Rich Roll at 40 was healthier compared to himself at 45. I visited a hospice for almost the entire month of July 2013; I saw many people who looked like him. Or perhaps he is Rickrolling the both of us.

He's a freak, but I suspect he's full of BS in regards to his eating and training.

I didn't call him a liar, where is your english speaking degree from? I said he may not be able to tell the truth because he might not know it.

I don't have a medical degree per se. I have a tireless passion for knowledge!

this is true but not black and white

have you ever seen a balck man win the worlds strongest man

northern europeans are probably the strongest humans alive

africans tend to be the fastest and biggest

they also have good physical characteristics all around

as for bone mass north asians along with northern europeans and polynesians probably have the stoutest frames but most asians are not of that type

Have you ever seen a black man compete in world's strongest man? I haven't. I would counter that the biggest/strongest are already investing their time in something that pays millions more (such as the NFL) than WSM. I guarantee you that Larry Allen (the strongest man in the NFL, ever, benched 700+ lbs RAW) could have won world's strongest man in his prime but he was busy making millions with the Cowboys. If he took a different path and trained for years for WSM, I bet he could have won it.

Even 5-time (most strongest man wins ever in the competition) winner from Poland, Pudzianowski's best lifts were a 640lb RAW benchpress and 830 something squat.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariusz_Pudzianowski

Larry Allen benched 705 in the link above and has been reported to squat 900. I also guarantee you that Pudzianowski did not run a 4.85 second 40yd dash like Allen did in his prime. See the video in the link above where 325lb Larry Allen ran down a linebacker and tackled him.

this is what a 722 lb unassisted bench press looks like

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwzXjry6s6g

also he cut off the runningback who had to slow down to try to avoid larry allen

still fast and very impressive for a linebacker

my first thought was seeing a man that big running that fast would be scary as fuck

Spoto's lift was definitely impressive, but a couple things. Larry Allen is 6-3 with much longer arms than Spoto who's what, 5-10? The Range of Motion is much more in Allen's lift, and Allen didn't even have good form (arched back) for powerlifting. Second, NFL athletes were drug tested and Spoto won't compete in tested federations. hmmm.

Next, Larry Allen benched 225lbs a whopping 43 times to set the record. I'd love to see Spoto do that, juiced or not... that is also muscle endurance which is different than power. The closest I've seen to that was Phil Brewer (also juiced) who did it 41 times at Kings of Bench.

Next, let's get to Allen's vertical of 30 inches. He could dunk a basketball at 350+ lbs which is unheard of. To give you an example of how good his speed/vertical numbers were:
Perspective? Only three offensive linemen and one guard have run faster 40s the last eight years [since 2005], and all three of them weighed at least 20 pounds less than Allen did during his playing days. No guards at this year's [2013] NFL scouting combine could beat that 30-inch vertical leap.
from the article above.

You also claimed that Allen could come close to beating most World's Strongest Men champions, yet none of them has benched 705lbs even assisted! Also highly doubtful they were even close to his speed/vertical as well.

That's 30 years of repetition and conditioning.

I had no idea that he was doing the MMA thing. The guy is freaking near 50 and he's battling men half his age.

I saw a picture of him flexing his muscles after an MMA contest. I was blown away. he looked like a body building competitor.

EDIT: Ya, found it.

he probably could but i was more or less talking about black strongmen as a whole

there is a black british strongman

some of the strongmen are very athletic

the strongman competitions are not a few sets of excercises with a specific range of motion like powerlifting

also some of the lifts require you to hold something at a odd grip or such and thus require very strong hands

Special Forces 38 years. 56 years old. Not afraid to take off my shirt anywhere. The harder the work and sweat, the more I am in my zone. Lean, very well muscled, all usable and fast, from feet to head. Take note, your body needs a certain amount of body fat to be truly healthy. Ask your Doc.

There are no weather stoppers with the obvious exemption of lightning and natural disaster level for outdoor exercises. Indoor works good enough during severe weather.

1. Stretch always before doing any exercise. Ligaments are as important as muscle. You can be the "Hulk", but if you tear a ligament, the muscle group and movement that uses that ligament is a shut down until it heals.

2. Breathing. Extremely important. Hold your breath as long as you can, do other breathing exercises.

3. What I do, 7 days a week. 50 push-ups at a time, 6 times daily. 45 sit-ups, 6 times daily. Sprint 30 yards, catch my breath for a moment, then 30 yards back 3 times per week. Swim or run depending on what I feel like. Don't time or set a distance. Stop when it is not fun anymore. Can do 26 mile marathons (don't enjoy it much...boring, not good for these old knees). Can swim forever it seems (normally 2 hours, using all styles).

4. Nutrition. I use a plate that has amount of vegetables, carbs, protein actually drawn on plate. I eat protein bars and fruit between meals if I feel hungry. A little sugar is okay (Diabetics...follow rules of Doc).

5. Martial Arts. Not necessary for good health. A preference that greatly, greatly enhances health for those who want to take fitness to a higher level. I practice a mix of Krav Maga, American Boxing, Wrestling (American and Brazilian), Kung Fu, Weaponry, with a little Tae Kwon Do and Gymnastics.

6. Not a superman. Not the best. Self edification only.

There's some crazy stuff going on with people and aging these days. With our increased caloric intake, vitamin intake, and health care products, today's healthy 50 year old has the body and appearance of a 35 year old in 1960.

The key word there is "healthy" though. We have a lot more unhealthy people, and we're using technology to artificially lengthen their lifespan. An overweight, smoking, Big-Mac munching 50 year old is going to have the appearance of a 1950's 50 year old, with the only difference being expensive high blood pressure pills, beta blockers, and blood thinners are keeping the modern guy alive where the 1950's version would be dead.

You can broaden this idea even more to explain why health care costs are so high for everyone: a large percentage of people are paying to keep a smaller percentage of people alive, and a large portion of those cases are due to poor life choices.
