I haven't even had a chance to see season 2 yet. Plenty of time for me to catch up.

wasn't NBC supposed to announce the "end" of fall premieres and switch to a staggered lineup?

It DID finish. They changed the ending because of the writer's strike, though, and it's really too bad we won't see how the other way would have played out (the way it was intended to).

can almost guarantee the alternate ending to the last episode will make it on the DVD release.

Well, they've already said what the alternate ending was (AFAIK), I'm talking more about the follow-up shows dealing with it.
