Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete

OK, I left the heroes series a LONG time ago.
Heroes 2 was my favorite turn based strategy game, but I never got into the other heroes game after that for some reason.

I now have Heroes III complete but don't now how I'm supposed to start the campaign to get the whole story.
When I click on campaign it gives me 3 options in this order...
1.) Shadow of Death
2.) Restoration of Erathia
3.) Armagedon's Blade

But looking on IGN, the games came out in this order...
1.) Restoration of Erathia
2.) Armagedon's Blade
3.) Shadow of Death

I chose Restoration of Erathia because of that, but the storyline there doesn't seem to make any sense.
Basically, I want the one that continues from the storyline of where Heroes II left off with Archibald and Roland.

SoD is a prequel to the other 2.

Shadows of Death the GAME came out last, but its first in the timeline.

IGN has the game order and the in-game layout has the historical order.
Having said that, the order of difficulty is setup correctly with IGN. My personal opinion is the core game (Restoration) is the easiest and Shadow is the harderst.

Yeah, that was the confusing part.
When I started Erathia, default was pawn(easy) setting.
When I started Shadow of Death, default was on rook(hard) setting.
