This is one of the better FPS/war games I've played (admittedly I don't play them that often). It's still in beta and is F2P so don't expect a completely polished game just yet. With that said, it only suffers from an occasional crash while in the strategy/menu selection portion and not in battle (so far). Also, if you end up having the problem where the Create Account button in-game won't work, just visit http://www.heroesandgenerals.com/14/en/.

Here's some basics about it.

Essentially, you play [and/or pay] to rank up and also earn credits to supply assault teams and that's where the strategy really comes in. It's an interesting addition. As you rank you can change your soldiers' discipline and go for Tank, Pilot, Paratrooper, or Recon. There's a good bit of weapons and upgrade options for each weapon available, which keeps you in the mobetta grind.

Well, I'm surprised no one else is playing this...it is a lot of fun, even though it's influenced by paying real cash for upgrades (that you can otherwise get by vast amounts of game time). I normally don't pay real money within the free-to-play models, but this time I decided $24USD wasn't a waste to help a game still in development to get veteran status (exp/credits bonuses), upgrades, booster packs, and have a good bit left over for assault teams or miscellaneous upgrades that I may need later.

I'm almost fully upgraded on my Recon soldier for 1 shot body shots. Learning the maps is the greatest achievement in the game, really. I absolutely love finding the best spot for each situation to camp and snipe. So much fun!

The current build for the game seems to have resolved a lot of crashing issues that I had, and errors when joining games. It runs pretty handily on older hardware, so don't be shy to try it out if you don't have the most amazing machine to play with.

The flying physics are terrible, the grand combat is okay at best, and i can't afford a real tank yet. Kind of annoying but kind of fun.
