Heroes and Generals Online...I need advice to rank up faster please

Hey guys,

Where to begin? This is kind of fun but confusing and stressful in that I need some in game financial adviser to help me not waste money I need some advice on how to best spend my money and what items to get.

I understand that ranking up fast means 1) capping main objectives 2) defending cap points 3) killing tanks are some main ways to earn higher XP points.


Been playing for a few weeks and this what I spent and upgraded so far.

I am playing using an American infantry soldier and NO others yet.

1) My US soldier has a rank of Senior Corporal Rank 4.

2) Only using one weapon which is a grease gun but I just unlocked Thompson gun and its available to me now. I have no grenades or shovels. Just a grease gun.

3) I bought no vehicles and always have to run on foot to the action.


Gold Credits Warfunds and memberships


Yesterday, I bought 5100 Gold for $22.00 and immediately bought a 30 day Veteran membership.

This is how I stand with points and Gold now.

Gold -----------------> 2691

My problem is what do I need to complete these objectives in terms of equipment, badges and so on? How much to spend on weapons and mods to help me earn higher XP points?

I imagine I would have to invest wisely in equipment, mods, vehicles or weapons to help me kill tanks and defend main objectives better right?

I got, rank 12 us recon, rank 4 us tanker, rank 5 us infantry, rank 4 german smg infantry, rank 5 german semi infantry and rank 2 russian infantry.
Never spent any real money, so far haven't spent any of my gold. Got about 400 gold and 450k cred.

Get grenades now. Grenades are fun When the enemy is capturing your last checkpoint, throw a grenade or two there and suddenly with luck you get a triplekill.
For each kill couple xp and kill count*60 xp in defence. So suddenly in one instant you get little over 200 xp.

While sniping is still far away, it gives nice xp too. Trick is to kill with 2-3 shots instead of just one. If the shots are far enough, each shot gets 20-40xp, so 40-120xp per enemy if you're good.

Tanks only give you good xp if you're a tank driver. Panzerfausting is so tricky that it's not a reliable xp source.

And semi/bolt are good for long distance, bad for close quarters. The greaser is nice but since you unlocked the Thompson, I recommend getting it. Lots of ammo for it and during captures you are strong both offence and defence. While my guy with Garand is just jumping around hoping to reload quick enough, any smg guy shoots me down in an instant.

I hate shovels.

I have just above 201,000 credits now. I can either buy a jeep or get a thompson. I think I will get a thompson because I hate being killed at close quarters with the silly grease gun.


Are there any useless mods to get for the thompson? And mods to avoid for thompson?

I am sorry I bought the shovel. I hate it. Any way I can get a refund now?

I just got sticky grenades. These are good because they can kill infantry and tanks at the same time.

This game sucks in that I feel paranoid about credits and gold and how to manage it. It takes away from the fun factor and I barely have time to play this game. Grinding for 5 hours a day every week is not an option for me. Time is not on my side.

What mods to get for Thompson gun to be more effective?
