i have found this chair for pretty cheap but there is a caveat, it has a big tear in the seat, now i’m looking for a home office chair for being on the computer long hours, right now what i use is laughable and causing me a lot of body pain, i have a VERY limited budget so have to buy used, there’s a lot of cheap stuff in local ads, but sometimes you can find a known brand, but still above budget, except this one, here’s a picture, is it worth it at 100 bucks ? i’m thinking a good brand that needs fixing is better than something cheap in the first place but what do i know, it doesn’t need be pretty, i’d be okay with just putting a cushion on it, please remember i’m very poor, i lost so much because of covid my life is a mess, thanks

Not familiar with the chairs, but it looks like the seat's structural on that model. If it was a ripped cover over foam, no problem, but that's gotta support you. If you were handy, you could probably fix it, and even make it look good, but it's virtually useless as-is, and I expect it would be expensive to have a professional repair done.

thanks for you opinons guys, so you guys feel a 100$ on a cheaper chair is worth more ? they all seem cheaply made at this price but i guess it wouldn’t need repairing for a bit

If you up your budget to the $150 area you should be able to get something decent new

I have this at home:

I have the Herman Miller Aeron chair at work, there is no significant difference in terms of comfort but you will noticed the difference in quality though.

Linking fail .... I assume its a knockoff of the Aeron?

I have one of those at work ... paid for by the boss! 😀

Super-comfortable but a little rich for my blood ... I'm afraid mid-range Staples chairs more on target for me!

I have this at home ... got it for $149 + tax on sale local pickup at Staples store:

Tempur-Pedic Bonded Leather Executive Chair

i understand what you guys are saying, but 150+ tax is out of budget for me, i know it sounds cheap to most people but i need food too

Looks like Costco removed it, it's no longer available. I don't think it's even good enough to be considered as Aeron knock off, but it serves the purpose for me:

It's $110+tax.

I don't mean to sound insensitive but if the situation is as dire as you described, I don't think your priority should be rolling a dice on a $100 obviously broken chair that may or may not work out.

And may still be available in a Costco store. Lots of differences between their B&M stock and on-line.

Checkout thrift shops. You can get a decent chair for <$20 around here. Might be stained, and they're usually subpremium, but comfortable enough. Or if you like the one you linked, buy it and fix it. I don't think it's long for the this world in it's existing condition, but it should be fixable. I'd have to see it in person to decide on a strategy.

thanks for all the replies, i thought long and hard about what was said and went for a used but almost new ikea markus for 40$ CAN, it’s really comfy, i love it, i successfully made music on that chair for hours yesterday which i hadn’t done in a while, so yay 😀

now for the future, i, wondering if there are smaller alternatives, i hadn’t realized how big it was, i’m 5’10 but pretty thin at 134lbs, i’m cool with it for now, but i realize i could sell it for a profit if i find something that works better in terms of size, not really complaining though.
