Friends,

The past several months I have been able to meet with people across this country. One thing is clear: America craves for real solutions to the problems we face. That's why I'm running for President of the United States!

Sincerely,

Herman Cain

A real black man 100% American not some establishment Irishman. I'd vote for him.

He shouldn't bring up cancer. American's don't like weakness or to be reminded they don't have health insurance.

I like Herman, although some of his socially conservative positions bother me. I would probably vote for him in the general election, but I'm hoping for someone socially more liberal in the primary. I expect though that the GOP nominee will be someone very socially conservative and that I'll end up voting Libertarian again.

Hey, at least I'll be able to say "don't blame me" no matter which one wins.

That's what I usually do too, but voting at all implies I agree with dominion over me so I don't do it generally. Hows that for libertarian?;)

He sucked bad in the first debate, yet Faux viewers thought he won. He kept saying the same thing over and over, it was watching a black Rudy G.

So far, I like him, and would feel better voting for him than I did for McCain.

He won't win. Obama will still take the black vote, the independents will probably split between the devil you know and the devil you don't, and the far-right will scream "he's black" and run away.

Eh, seems kinda fake to me, I think people just like him because he says hes not a politician. He was the chairman of a federal reserve branch once though. Also he flip-flopped on supporting TARP. I don't think he won the debate either, he just kinda seemed to repeat the same thing.

Won't vote for him in the primary, though I like him better than a lot of the other candidates.

If Mr. Cain is elected president, shall he swear to "Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, except for Article VI, Section 3"?

Shall I take that to mean you disagree with my assessment?

It's not even an agree vs. disagree thing it's just an observation on some of the outlandish, unsubstantiated rhertoric that I have seen from both sides throughout this sub forum.

If you find that to be outlandish and unsubstantiated rhetoric, then you will not fare well here over the long term.

I thought it was a fair assessment to be honest, welcome to P&N you're going to hear alot more outlandish things than that here.

People here aren't too bad when they try to tell you what THEY think. (unless they are the really deranged people like spidey) When the crazy really starts to fly is when people try to explain what they believe OTHER people think.

Sure I will, this site has a functioning ignore feature to block out the crazies.

Not being very familiar with him I decided to just look him up. I thought he was the guy who said he would never appoint a Muslim to any cabinet position, and I was correct. I feel this is discriminatory as it's the individual to consider, not the generalized group. If anyone ever said they would never appoint a Christian, or a Jew, or a Black they'd be skewered alive by the media. He got off easy in comparison.

From reading some basic information on him I have to say I disagree with most of his economic and social standpoints. Probably overall I disagree with 85-90% of his views. I would say he is too conservative to get elected.

President Obama seems to be growing into the job. By the time he's up for reelection he may actually be ready to become president.
I don't disagree with that. I still can't imagine myself voting for him, but I can at least imagine myself not voting against him as I did last time. But I was referring to Obama circa 2008, when his sole qualifications were his brown skin and his ability to sonorously read a TelePrompter.
