I'm not usually preachy about what people decide to do in the privacy of their own home and I can't claim to be anything close to an angel, but we lost a truly awesome person over the weekend to a habit that none of us knew existed. It was an absolute shocker to everyone that knew him. In such a tight group of friends, it seemed impossible that nobody knew or saw the warning signs before it was too late. We held a tribute party/BBQ over the weekend, and the mixture of complete breakdowns and looks of sorrow are something I never want to witness again in my lifetime.

DO NOT FUCK WITH THIS DRUG.

Was he drinking also? AFAIK, heroin is pretty hard to OD on. It's when you mix it with drugs and other alcohol that it really becomes deadly. See: Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc.

Not that I'm condoning heroin use, I was just curious.

It's very easy to OD on heroin. That's how a dealer will get rid of a troublemaker. He gives him a hot batch, and if he doesn't get to the hospital on time, he'll be dead.
