I think nvidia should just make it so that you absolutely could not run any 3dmarks on any of their cards. That program would be worthless to anyone then. Who's going to buy or use it when they can only see the results of one other top companies (ati) cards? With nothing to compare it too it means squat. Yeah some people would be upset because they are 3dmarks feinds but I'm sure they'd get over it, there are plenty of game benchmarking tools out there.

Sorry if it just comes across as being an nvidia fanboy, it's not that though (I have a 9700 pro btw) it's that I don't like how the new 3dmarks works, I don't like futuremark anymore, I don't like how so much emphasis is put on this program, I don't like these fights and battles over this dang program that's close to meaningless for real world gaming.

Should Nvidia also stop games that make them look bad from running as well?

3DMark is built on DX9. If Nvidia has DX9 drivers, then it should be able to run 3DM. Nvidia not allowing 3DM to run simply because it exposes their cards as "slow" with reference DX9 calls won't be good for anyone.

Why don't you equally dislike how much emphasis is being put on Quake 3 / Serious Sam 2/ UT2K3 benchmarks? Is every game out there an FPS? Do you think a card's performance on UT2K3 is an indication of how it will perform on IL2 or Dungeon Siege or Morrowind or Sim City 4?

And what exactly don't you like about FutureMark? I thought they handled this rather even-handedly. I assume they'll look into ATi's performance gains in GT4 as thoroughly as they investigated Nvidia's.
